A Functional little quilted bag

This is a little quilted bag made for a very dear friend at work. It was made to hold her car radio /cd faceplate to keep it safe from scratches as she totes it from car to work to home etc.
It closes with Velcro to make sure the faceplate doesn't fall out! I used bits of fabric I have left over from other things and really was very pleased with how well they work together even though they were purchased at different times for different reasons! It just goes to show how my color choices tend to be complimentary! Though the photos don't show it the green of the front matches the greens of the leaf shapes on the backside. I will be giving this to her tomorrow.

catching up on ufos

I often work on more then one thing at a time. Sometimes I just need to take a few paces away from the work to let it feel fresh again. Such is the case with these. I work on the flying crow a bit and then switch gears to the little birds which still need some machine satin stitching outlines.
These pictures are not the best. Taken with my phone camera. Which is brand new and I am having so much fun with it!

It is a Palm Treo and they call it a 'smart' phone...whatever...it has loads of things it can do from surfing the web to picture taking including video and even television. Amazing. I still remember my first mobile phone..it had a whole case it was attached to. A bag phone. Now this one fits in my pocket. Plus it is RED. lol.

Time for play

The beautiful Honey Locust trees in my backyard have bloomed with intoxicating perfumes.
Last nights wind left a snowfall of petals on my windshield.
My ears are full of bird songs, my pencil draws an imaginary crow like bird. Needle and thread is turning a little flock of whimsical birds into a small hanging. More will be posted as it finds it way to finished.
