Learning from mistakes

This is my favorite time of the year. The weather turns just a little bit cooler, Nature puts on a beautiful show for us before she fades into the grays of winter.
I am almost done with the Maiden and the Trout. I will post photos when the work is all done.
All ready I have plans for the next one in the works. Plus experimenting with other techniques with the sewing machine.
This is the beginning of the busy time of year for me so I do want to get started on something soon, before getting all bogged down with other aspects of my life.
Photo here is of a work that did not quite end up as I wanted it to. A learning experience for me. I know I have many of these that don't measure up to standards. Each work, however badly done, brings to me knowledge that will be useful on the next ones. Life and art, for me , are all about learning. If we cant learn from our mistakes we will indeed repeat them over and over.

Blog Action Day 2007

Blog Action Day

I am joining in the blog action day. This world of ours is full of wonder. Here is hoping that with new attitudes world wide a difference could be made. I hate to think of the worst case scenario happening. Our future generations deserve more from us.

Here is my link to Eating locally and how it can help us all.

sewing in the woods

while I am still stitching away on the Maiden and the Trout this is what I am looking at. The lovely doe has twin fawns hidden in the woods. She calmly munched away while I stitched.
The sunlight turned this grass beauty into gold.
The stark bark of this dying aspen called for a black and white rendering.
As you can see I am moving along slowly, a bit distracted perhaps.

A really unique blog to look into

I love the idea Kirsty Hall has. To do a drawing a day would be commitment enough but to also post it in the mail with a little treasure inside, every day, is wonderful. After a year of daily posts to herself she hopes to show the whole project and only then open the envelopes to expose the contents. I for one will be looking forward to that.http://diary-project.blogspot.com/
